The media narrative connecting them—that Nvidia's health is now dependent on SpaceX's success—is an attempt to merge these two gravitational fields. The first stage of misinformation is taking a minor data point and inflating its importance. That is exactly what has happened with Nvidia and SpaceX. The relationship deserves to be covered—not because it is financially material today, but because it represents a strategic option. Over the next decade, this option may become the dominant source of Nvidia's edge in defense and autonomous systems markets.

The Takeaway: Positioning in the Sideways Crypt

The current market for Nvidia and, by extension, the entire AI trade, has priced in a scenario where AI datacenter demand grows at a 50%+ CAGR for the next three to five years. That is the central scenario. But markets exist on the margins.

If the AI training trade cools, Nvidia's earnings could decelerate from triple-digit growth to 20-30% year-over-year growth. In that world, the current valuation of approximately 45x trailing earnings could compress to 25-30x. That is a 30-40% drawdown risk.
